The Midday Meal Scheme is a school meal programme of the Government of India designed to better the nutritional standing of school-age children nationwide.The programme supplies free lunches on working days for children in primary and upper primary classes in government, government aided, local body, Education Guarantee Scheme, and alternate innovative education centres, Madarsa and Maqtabs supported under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, and National Child Labour Project schools run by the ministry of labour

How To Apply

Mid day meal program is implemented in accordance with the guidelines of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India and Department of School Education and Literacy. Panchayat and Rural Development Department is the nodal department. Mid-day Meal Program is implemented with joint resources of the Government of India and the state government. Implementation of MDM program in Madhya Pradesh has been started since 1995. (Food was given as raw food grain) In 2001, Dalia and Khichdi were distributed as a cooked meal. Since 2004, the food served as per the interesting menu. Since 2008, The program was implemented in all government grant-in-secondary schools.
